Exhibition Cork A Great Success!
The Health Awareness Exhibition held
by Asthma Society of Ireland, Diabetes Federation of Ireland
and the HSE Cardiovascular Public Health Nurses held in
the Rochestown Park Hotel, Douglas Cork on Sunday 23rd
of November has been hailed as a great success.
This event
was the first such venture held between these organisations
and will highlight chronic conditions which have a particularly
high prevalence in Ireland. Admission and testing was free
to this event. The exhibition featured a large array of
attractions and free health checks including diabetes
screening, HbA1c, blood pressure, BMI and eye checks, inhaler
techniques, peak flow and spirometry checks, product promotions
and kiddies attractions.
The exhibition provided attendees
the opportunity to put questions to health professionals
on specific areas relating to asthma, diabetes and cardiovascular
disease on what promises to be a very interactive and informative
day. The
hourly educational talks by relevant Specialist Consultants
throughout the day and wide range of workshops covering
more specific aspects of these conditions were very popular.
The Asthma Society of Ireland would like to thank all those
who attended this Health Exhibition, our partners the Diabetes
Federation of Ireland, and all those who took part in this
very successful and widely appreciated event.
