VOLUNTEER

No fundraising event is too big or too small, our dedicated and friendly staff have a wealth of experience and will be with you every step of the way be it a raffle in the local community centre or an attempt on a Guinness world record.

We have posters, collection buckets, t-shirts and everything else that you may need for fundraising so give us a call right now and we will help you to get started.

Some of the most common local fundraising events are:

TYPES OF VOLUNTEERING

Church Gate collections
In order to collect money outside a church gate you must get the permission from the local priest or clergyman, in addition to this you must obtain a permit from local the Gardaí. These permits must be applied for well in advance as many collections happen at the same time each year and are booked out well in advance. We will supply you with any collection buckets, posters etc. that you will need for the collection. Contact our Fundraising Office for more information on permits on 01 8788511 or email office@asthmasociety.ie

On Street/Public Places
In order to collect in a public place/on the street you must have permission from the local Gardaí, a permit is easy to obtain but the guidelines must be strictly adhered to. Each district has a unique set of circumstances so it is well worth having a conversation with the local Gardaí before you set out. One of our fundraising streams is selling lottery tickets on the street, in order not to have too many people on the street at the same time let us know well in advance and we will be able to coordinate our sellers.

Bag packing
Local supermarkets are often seen as the backbone of a community, bag packing has become a tremendous way to show your support for a charity and a fantastic way to meet your neighbours and friends. Approach the manager directly and ask permission to bagpack.
