Life without limits -  Stephen Fry

Comedian, novelist and actor Stephen Fry, 51, has starred in many much-loved TV series, including Jeeves And Wooster, A Bit Of Fry And Laurie and Blackadder. He has had asthma all his life. Speaking on having asthma he has said "I know what it is like to grow up with asthma and the impact it can have on your life". He spent a year of his childhood in hospital because of his asthma.

Stephen Fry is an excellent model for a " Life without Limits". He is one of Britain's most beloved comedians and has become a national icon.  He has appeared in nearly all facets of entertainment: television, movies, radio, books and stage. In 2005, in a poll taken by various other comedians, Stephen was placed in one of the top 50 comedy acts. Much of Stephen's comedy relies on his hilarious use of language: word play, double meanings, use of silly words and aided by his very rich, warm, very English voice.

Stephen has been in a large number of films - much too many to list in entirety. However, here are a few highlights:

  • Peter's Friends  –
  • Wilde - A biopic about the author and playwright Oscar Wilde. Stephen played the title role. Stephen said he was 'born to be Wilde'.
  • Bright Young Things.
  • The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - The long-awaited movie adaptation of the book of the same title, Stephen was the Voice of the Guide.
  • V for Vendetta
  • Spiceworld
  • A Fish Called Wanda
  • The Wind in the Willows
  • Gosford Park
