Events & Awareness Days 2007

The Asthma Society of Ireland participated in the following events during 2007, helping to create asthma awareness throughout the country by providing a wide range of free information booklets and asthma nurses specialists at these events to answer medical questions.


The Asthma Society of Ireland will have a stand at this years Big into Baby show in the RDS on November 24th and 25th. An Asthma Nurse specialist will be available to answer medical questions at the stand from 12pm-4pm on Saturday and Sunday. For more information, click here .

Special visitor Mr. Wheezing Wolf from "The Wheezing Wolf and The Three Little Pigs" will be at the Asthma Society Stand from 12pm-2pm on Saturday and Sunday to give out balloons and "The Wheezing Wolf" booklets!

Over 50s

The Over 50's Show is Ireland's only lifestyle event for older people and directly addresses their interests and concerns through an entertaining and informative mix of displays, free presentations, demonstrations, health testing/monitoring, sampling, and competitions.

PET EXPO

Pet Expo 2007 is Ireland's first dedicated consumer Pet Exhibition featuring everything that is relevant to the ownership of the family Pet. It is a 3-day consumer show at the RDS, Dublin: Open to the public with a variety of pets, pet products, service providers, entertainers, clubs and organisations that cater to pets. All types of pets, will be covered, anything from dogs and cats, to fish, reptiles and other small caged exotics. All of these animals can be seen on-site during the show for the attendees to interactive with.

The Asthma Society of Ireland will have a qualified respiratory nurse at the Dyson stand from 1-4pm everyday, to answer any questions relating to asthma and pets. The nurse will also be giving a seminar on "Pets and Allergies" from 2.30 - 3pm each day. The Dyson Clean Team will also be on hand to offer simple but effective cleaning tips.

SCHOOLDAYS Exhibition

On Saturday 8th & Sunday 9th September 2007 from 11am-6pm Schooldays.ie will be hosting a SCHOOLDAYS Exhibition at the Cuala GAA Centre on Hyde Road in Dalkey, Co. Dublin. 

Awareness Days

The objective of the SCHOOLDAYS Exhibition is to provide the opportunity under the one roof, for parents, teachers and children to discover the broad range of educational and extra curricular activities available and be afforded the chance and time to consult directly with exhibitors. Parents can there and then subscribe to, or enrol in, the chosen activity or support for the forthcoming year.

A timetable detailing the talks and the demonstrations will be advertised on the www.schooldays.ie website and timetables will be distributed both prior to and during the event.

The Asthma Society of Ireland will have an information stand at the event over the two days.  An asthma nurse specialist will also be available at the stand to answer any asthma related queries.
